Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering & Technology
Dr. Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology ( MCET ) established in the year 1998 is a private, self financing, co-educational institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) and is affiliated to the Anna University. The college is located on the Coimbatore – Dindugal National Highway ( NH-209) in 29 acres of land at Pollachi.
The college offers 8 Engineering and 3 Applied Science undergraduate programmes in various disciplines and 5 postgraduate programmes and 2 doctoral programmes. The institute has been awarded with ISO 9001:2000 certificate by TUV Rhineland. Also it is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation ( NBA ).
The college has excellent infrastructure with well equipped, state-of-the-art labs, 24 mbps internet connectivity with 16 Mbps, intranet, linking more than 1500 computers with Optic Fibre Cables ( OFC ).

Director :
Prof. S. Vijayarangan, is an Automobile Engineer from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai. He holds his Master’s degree in Engineering Design, from Madras University , through PSG College of Technology, and his doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
He joined the stream of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at PSG College of Technology in the year 1978 and has more than 25 years of teaching and research experience. Under his guidance, 9 Ph.D scholars have obtained their doctoral degree and another scholars are working currently. To his credit more than 100 publications out of which more than 40 papers are published in International and National Journals. His field of interest and research are automobile engineering, composite material structures, finite element analysis and gear engineering. He is a former Principal of PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore
He has been a member of the AICTE Expert Committee in different Staff Selection Boards and Inspection Committees. Also, he has been a member of the board of examiners in different Universities and autonomous Colleges. He is a former Chairman of The Institution of Engineers ( India ), Coimbatore Local Centre. He is a Member of ISTE, SAE , USA and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India .
Principal :
Dr. S. Chenthur Pandian, the principal of Dr.MCET, He had completed his B.Sc. Degree in Mathematics from Madurai Kamaraj University. He had obtained his AMIE degree in Electrical Engineering from the Institution of Engineers ( Calcutta). He had completed his LL.B. (Law) degree from Kanpur university. He had obtained his M.E. degree in Electrical Power Systems from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He had obtained his Ph.D. degree (highly commendable) in Fuzzy Applications for Power Systems from Periyar Univeristy, Salem.
He had served in Indian Air Force for 15 years from 1979 to 1994. He had worked in KSR College of Technology, Tiruchengode as Professor and Head of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Vice-Principal and Director till 2006. From 2006 to 1st June, 2010, he had served in Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal as Founder Principal.
